DUE TO AN UNPLANNED MEDICAL RETIREMENT, WE HAVE AN IMMEDIATE VACANCY FOR A PSV DRIVER. TEMPORARY IN THE FIRST INSTANCE (TO END OF JULY) BUT POSSIBLE PERMANENT CONTRACT STARTING IN SEPTEMBER 2011

We are now looking at our requirement  for “Schools Board” Drivers for September. Part Time Contracts; Guaranteed Minimum 2hrs AM and / or 2hrs PM for 190 days per year. Hourly Rate as set out below. Serving both State and Private sector Schools / Colleges. Must be of a child-friendly disposition. Some opportunities for extra hours on private hire and contracts. Most “Schools Board” Drivers earn a minimum of £56.00 per day for only 4 hrs work.

FOR FULL DETAILS OF OUR WAGES SCHEMES PLEASE SEE BELOW

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION (WITH CURRENT CV) VIA EMAIL FROM THIS SITE.

SPECIFICS:

All full-time staff ( min 35 hrs guaranteed week but averaging around 50+) are on one of three “incremental” hourly wage scales. This means, for the first ten years, the hourly rate goes up by a small amount each year on top of any “annual wage increase” that is awarded across the board to everyone. The lowest rate on the “basic scale” is currently £9.25 ph and the top of the highest scale is £10.15 ph. All full time staff must take 20 days paid holiday during the “school holidays” and are entiltled to a “lieu day” if required to work (at time and a half) on a statutory bank holiday. There are other allowances relating to commuting distance, mobile phone use, daily / overnight expenses etc.

New Part-Time or Casual drivers will be offered £14.00 ph for the first two hours of any turn-in and then at the basic scale for any further hours of the duty. This rate includes an element of “Holiday Pay” paid on an ongoing basis.

Applications, with CV, will be considered from any PCV qualified driver (since the whole fleet is automatic, an Auto PCV Licence will suffice) who is able to “pass” an Enhanced CRB check, and be accepted by our insurance Company without penalty (period licence held, age, driving record etc).

All applicants will have to demonstrate a reasonable degree of numeracy and literacy.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

We do not have a significant turnover of staff (perhaps one or two a year) with a current average length of service across all drivers of nine years. Even if you are not applying for one of the jobs above, we are always on the lookout for outstanding candidates for full, part-time or casual driving for the future. Therefore it may be worth submitting your CV by email via this website which could lead to either an informal “chat”, formal interview or placement on the “waiting list”. We are particularly interested in “professional people” looking for, or already qualified for, a “Second Career”
